Print embellishment in Mannheim

Embossed lettering, metallic foils or selectively varnished areas: we embellish covers, cards, mailings and other printed products. Together, we coordinate the process, paper and artwork, from the initial design idea to the finished run. Embossing, foil and varnish for your print products. We match the process, paper and artwork to the effect you want.

Which embellishment suits your print product?

  • Blind embossing

Blind embossing creates a raised or recessed design in the paper without additional ink or foil. It suits logos, lettering and patterns that use light, shadow and texture to create their effect.

  • Hot foil stamping

Heat and pressure transfer the decorative layer of a stamping foil onto the material. Alongside gold and silver, other metallic and coloured foils are available, for example for titles, logos and graphic details.

  • Varnishes

Varnish can highlight individual designs or alter larger areas. Depending on the specification, it creates differences in gloss or tactile textures. The effect depends on the substrate and its combination with the printed image.

  • Letterpress

Letterpress transfers ink from a printing forme onto suitable, compressible card. A recessed impression can add a tactile quality to the print, for example on invitations, business cards or stationery.

  • Die-cutting and laser cutting

Cut-outs, outlines and windows become part of the design. The suitable process depends on factors including material, artwork and quantity. Applications include folders, covers and multi-part mailings.

What we agree before embellishment

  • Paper and artwork

Surface, material thickness and compressibility affect the result. Fine lines, small type and large areas each have different requirements. For embossing, we also consider the reverse side and the position relative to fold or binding edges.

  • Artwork for embellishment areas

Embellishment areas and cutting outlines must be clearly identified in the production files. We agree their setup with you or your agency, then check technical feasibility.

  • Print run, costs and samples

Depending on the process, tooling and setup costs may apply. We therefore consider design size, quantity and material together. For demanding combinations, we discuss whether a production sample would be useful: a screen view cannot show texture or actual gloss.

Prepress & artwork preparation

From your idea to an embellished print product

  1. Specification and quotation

Tell us the product, quantity, deadline and desired embellishment. A draft or reference photo helps us discuss the options. We assess the material and process, then prepare a quotation.

  2. Artwork checks and approval

We agree positions, embellishment areas and any required tooling. If agreed, sampling follows. You approve the final specification before production.

  3. Production and delivery

Printing, embellishment and finishing take place in the sequence your product requires. The finished copies are then packed and prepared for the agreed delivery.
