Brochures and magazines tailored to your content, with advice on paper, binding and print runs. From print files to delivery.

What kind of brochure or magazine are you planning?

A sales brochure is used differently from a customer magazine. We consider the content of your publication, how often it will be used and how it will reach its readers.

Corporate brochures

Company profiles, service overviews and selected projects: a corporate brochure brings together the information you use to introduce yourself to customers and business partners. We match the paper surface, printing, cover and binding to the imagery, page count and intended use.

Format and paper determine handling, image appearance and weight

Your content is the starting point for the specification. Large photographs, detailed tables and long passages of text have different requirements, and affect production costs and shipping.

  • Let the content guide the format

Portrait, landscape or square: the key is how images and text are arranged on the pages and how the publication will be used.

  • Paper surface and show-through

Coated papers support detailed image reproduction. Uncoated papers have a more open, tactile feel. Opacity also matters when printing on both sides.

  • Coordinate the cover and inner pages

A heavier cover adds stability and protection. Paper weight and bulk affect handling, spine width and the publication’s overall weight.

Which binding suits your publication?

Page count, paper and intended use determine the finishing. The binding should be decided before the layout is finalised for print.

Slanted 42 - Books with an exposed spine and orange hot foil stamping on a purple cover
  • Saddle stitching

For compact brochures and magazines. Folded sheets are nested and stapled along the spine; page counts are usually planned in multiples of four.

  • Perfect binding

For longer publications with a straight spine that can carry text. Spine width is calculated from the paper and page count.

  • Other options

Loop stitching for filing, or Wire-O binding for working documents that need to lie flat on a desk.

  • Cover embellishments

Blind embossing, hot foil stamping and selected varnishes add tactile or visual accents. Paper, artwork and process are assessed together.

Digital or offset printing: which makes sense?

FLEXIBLE / SHORT RUNS

Digital printing

No fixed printing plates: suitable for short runs, different versions and variable content. Where content changes frequently, smaller quantities can be produced and reprinted as needed.

EFFICIENT / REPEAT PRODUCTION

Offset printing

Using printing plates and a defined setup: often a good choice for medium to large runs. Setup costs are spread across more copies, and spot colours can also be included.

More about this method

There is no fixed quantity above which one method is always cheaper. We consider print run, page count, format, paper and finishing together and price the most suitable specification.

From your enquiry to delivery

You can approach us with an initial idea or finished print files. We clarify any outstanding specification questions as we plan the project together.

  1. Enquiry & requirements

The publication, page count, print run and preferred date form the basis of our initial assessment.

  2. Advice & quotation

We agree the paper, printing method, binding and delivery arrangements, then prepare your individual quotation.

  3. Artwork checks & approval

We check the format, bleed, images and fonts. You approve the final print files before production.

  4. Printing & colour matching

After your approval, we print using the agreed materials, the appropriate process and the specified colours.

  5. Binding & embellishment

The sheets are folded, bound and trimmed. Embellishments give your cover the desired effect.

  6. Delivery & distribution

We pack and deliver to your chosen addresses. Individual mailing and storage for later call-off are also available.

Frequently asked questions about brochures and magazines

Ideally, we need a print-ready PDF. The correct document size, sufficient image resolution, accurate colours and the appropriate bleed are important. If you are unsure, we are happy to check your files.
